Creating an SSRS Metadata Repository – How to Extract, Automate, and Leverage

Your ‘ReportServer’ database contains helpful information about your SSRS reports, but much of this is stored in a difficult to access fashion. This 200 level session will help you to access this metadata, and answer common questions such as: · Have we deployed redundant data sources · Who and when made the latest change to a report · Are we consistent with our Parameter settings · Are we consistent with Margins, Headers and Footers · What SQL code is embedded in all Datasets This session will demonstrate SSRS Metadata techniques using T-SQL, Excel (Power Query), as well as automation in SSIS. A demo will also be provided of a custom web portal (Fast Track Reports) that makes extensive use of SSRS metadata.
